Coast/Beach
La Herradura beach is four minutes by car and 10 mins by foot and for the brave, under 2 mins by mountain bike! The Marina beach is sandy, secluded, clean and quiet. The La Herradura beach has beach-side restaurants and bars and has pedalos, canoes, water-skiing and wind-surfing available. Nerja beach - a 12 min drive away has a golden, sandy beach which is great for children and building sandcastles. All beaches in the area have the coveted 'blue flag' awards for cleanliness.

Golf
Golf is available at Malaga which is approx 50 mins drive away.

Skiing
Sierra Nevada ski resort is only 60 mins away and offers extensive and challenging skiing with plenty of apres-ski bars and restaurants. Ideal for all the family. Please contact owner for website addresses.

Special interest holidays
La Herradura and Nerja are famous for their underwater caves and this has led to many sub-aqua diving clubs operating in the Herradura and Marina del Este. The bay and surrounding area have been designated a marine reserve. Sailing boat hire and speed boat hire, both with and without crew are available from the marina. In addition, a short drive takes you up into the mountains where there are numerous walks and traditional white villages to visit.

 

Travel
Malaga airport is a short 50 min drive away along the N340 Mediterranean Autovista. Granada airport is 60 mins away. Gibralter airport is 2 hours drive away. A car is essential for this property.

La Herradura village is 4 mins drive. Marina del Este is 3 mins drive. Nerja is 10 min drive, Almunecar is 10 min drive. Motril is 20 min drive. Malaga is 50 mins, Granada is 60 mins, Marbella is 90 mins, Gibralter is 120 mins and Puerto Banus the world famous marina is 100 mins drive. Las Alpujarras mountain range is 40 mins. The world famous, 'ninth wonder of the world', the Alambra Palace is 50 mins drive away.
